LESSON DESCRIPTION
TDOC employees are sworn to faithfully discharge duties and to avoid ill treatment or abuse of inmates under their charge. Each TDOC employee who has direct contact with inmates is required by policy #502.01 to enforce inmate regulations. This course will enable trainees to successfully carry out this requirement.
The instructor will also review the policies and procedures relating to inmate discipline.
PERFORMANCE OBJECTIVES
Upon successful completion of this class, the participants will be able to:
1.List at least four (4) reasons for protecting inmate's rights.
2.Describe at least five (5) principles of discipline.
3.List at least three (3) options available to staff in disciplining inmates.
4.Name two (2) due process requirements of staff when using formal corrective action.
